Two Words that almost never go together?  “Financial” and “Peace”  Right?  How would you like to change that for yourself and for your family?  How would you like to experience “Financial Peace”?  Starts February 25, meets at Peace from 4:00 to 6:00 pm on Sunday afternoons, lasts for 9 weeks, and has the potential to completely transform your relationship with money and finances.  Sponsored by the Endowment Committee.  Call the parish office for more info or to sign up.  Child care is available, but please let the office know so they can arrange for it. 

Pre-Baptism class on Saturday, March 10th, at 10:00 am at Peace.  For a baptism at either Peace or Nelsonville.  Call the office for more information or to sign up. 

Nelsonville Bible Camp Scholarships are available for any child (member of Nelsonville)  wishing to attend camp.  The amount of the scholarship will be determined once the number of students going is known.  Please consider using this opportunity to enrich your child’s life with time spent in these wonderful camps.  Applications in the narthex or speak to Anita Peterson.

The next Women’s Bible Study will be on Wednesday, March 7th, at 8:30 am at Peace.  All women are welcome!

Nelsonville WELCA is collecting items needed for PERSONAL CARE KITS — sent to Lutheran World Relief, then sent to areas throughout the world that are suffering from wars and disasters.  Last year we sent 106 kits!  Can we match that this year?  Please use the list below to help you in purchasing the needed items.

  • 1 bath towel (light or medium weight, 52×27, dark colors preferred)
  • 2 or 3 bath size bars of soap equaling up to 8 or 9 oz., any brand in original wrapping
  • 1 adult size toothbrush (multi -packs accepted)
  • 1 sturdy comb
  • 1 metal nail clipper

ATTENTION THRIVENT FINANCIAL POLICYHOLDERS:  This is a reminder that if you own a policy with Thrivent Financial you may qualify for their Choice Dollars.  If you qualify for Choice Dollars, please consider directing your dollars to Nelsonville or Peace Lutheran Church.  There is still time!  You have until March 31st to direct your dollars from last year.  ALSO, check into doing a THRIVENT ACTION TEAM service project.  It gives you $250.00 to use for a project, such as buying items for the Personal Care Kits.

Join LWR this Lent in a Season of Hope.  As we walk through the season of Lent together, announce to the world that the Hope of Christ makes a new season possible.  Give – Make – Worship – PrayGive to LWR and bring A Season of Hope to your brothers and sisters in poverty around the world.  Make Personal Care Kits for families in need around the world.  Worship!  This Palm Sunday wave palms that proclaim hope for the hands that harvested them – Eco Palms!  Pray in the Spirit at all times in every prayer and supplication.  Visit for resources.

T.R.A.C.K. (Tomorrow River Area Community Kitchen) provides emergency assistance of food for families with needs.  Hours: Monday 8:00-10:00 am and Thursday 5:00-7:00 pm at Peace. 

Check the bulletin boards in each narthex for information on programs provided through the Aging and Disability Resource Center and for volunteer opportunities for seniors.
