Advent Night is Wednesday, November 27 from 6:30 to 8:00 pm at Peace! There will be snacks and lots of activities. We will be decorating and filling the college care kit boxes (confirmation students can help and earn church hours). Hope to see you! |
Let's not forget our college students this Christmas! We are starting to take donations of small items like candy, snacks, toiletries, school supplies, gift cards to Starbucks, and other small items that fit in a box to be shipped. This has brought many warm smiles and happy hearts around the time of college finals. AND, if you are the parent of one of our parish’s college kids, don’t forget to call or email the office with an updated address. Drop off donations to the office until Wednesday, November 27th! |
The Mitten Tree is up at Peace! Please help Operation Bootstrap collect winter gear for needy children. Decorate the tree with hats, mittens, gloves, scarves, jackets, boots, etc. Every article of clothing warms a kid's body (and a mom's heart). |

2024 Nelsonville Cemetery Association
Wreaths Across America Ceremony
The Trustee of Nelsonville Cemetery Association would like to invite all Tomorrow River Lutheran parishioners to join us in celebrating 10 years of commitment to the Wreaths Across America program. This year’s National Wreaths Across America Ceremony is on December 14, 2024. Nelsonville Cemetery Association will hold our wreath laying ceremony in the cemetery at 10:45 a.m. CST on the 14th to coincide with the National laying of wreaths at Arlington National Cemetery at 12:00 noon EST.
Nelsonville Cemetery Association first hosted a wreath laying ceremony on December 12, 2015, when volunteers laid 37 wreaths on the graves of those who served our nation during times of war and peace. In 2024, we will be laying 53 wreaths.
Building on previous themes of service to Country, Community and Family, the National Wreaths Across America 2024 theme is “Live with Purpose”. This theme acts as a call to action for all of us to spend the rest of our lives making sure that every day is meaningful and that we try to live each day with purpose. Karen Worcester, Executive Director of Wreaths Across America stated her view of the theme this way, “For me, to live with purpose is a mindset.”
For those of you who wish to donate towards the cost of the wreaths, this year’s wreaths were set at $17. Please see any of the trustees for more information on the Wreaths Across America program.
For all who have served, thank you with all our hearts for your service.
